Sheryl Crow has been mixing  up her workout regimen since becoming a mom. The nine-time Grammy winner and super musician was caught on the red carpet at the 2009 Grammy Awards discussing what she does to keep her body slim and healthy now that she doesn’t have as much time to run around.

“I used to be a runner, I used to run all the time, but since Wyatt (her son) came, I’ve gotten kind of lax about it.”  She continues, “Recently, a friend turned me on to this P90X, it’s a workout series for ninety days. It’s every different kind of muscle group—Pilates and yoga and weightlifting too…It’s just everything!”

It just goes to show you, even celebrities are using the P90X system. And we can see why…Sheryl looks stunning!

P90X is a system of 12 sweat-inducing and muscle-burning DVD workouts that are to transform your ‘normal’ body into a ripped up and toned machine in 90 days.  Exercises include plyometrics, yoga, Kenpo (type of martial arts) and weight training. There is a three-phase nutrition plan, supplement options, an accompanying fitness guide, calendar and even online support with the celebrity trainer, Tony Horton.  The exercise program is to be followed six days a week through out the 90 days.

P90X may not be for everyone, although you can go at your own pace and build up. Always consult your physician or health care provider before embarking on an exercise regime.

Welcome to The Radiant Cougar

The term “cougar” seems to be quite popular lately. So… I began taking notice and decided to investigate online to see what was going on, and what was being said.  I was not too pleased at what I found. There still seems to be a lot of stigma and judgment attached to the idea of a beautiful, healthy, vital, successful, accomplished, in-love-with-life, mature woman enjoying and seeking the company of a younger man.

I’m not one for labels,  stigma, or judgment. I think it’s undeserved and narrow minded.  That’s why I created this blog. I wanted to create a place where women, and the men who care for them could find supportive information regarding health, diet, and super foods…all with the intent to help cougars and cubs lead healthy and happy lives together!

I’m  here to say that I believe there is absolutely nothing wrong with a beautiful, healthy, vibrant woman seeking the company of the type of man that makes her feel beautiful, radiant and alive. This has been going on since the beginning of time, and there are really good reasons why it can be a good thing. I hope this blog can serve to explain the reasons and help people in general reach a better understanding of why this is happening.

I respect any woman who takes pride in her appearance-and works at it, strives to be happy, is successful in her life, and is excited about being a woman. This is a powerful combination, and when it is also combined with the ability to continuously  embrace the “girl within,” it proves to be an irresistable offer. Women are  not meant to be set aside and discarded because they reach a certain age. On the contrary, a mature woman offers wisdom, and a sense of self, which is something to be respected, admired, and cherished.

I have no doubt this will be a very interesting ride, so stay tuned!
